Moms Demand Action (National)

Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. We pass stronger gun laws and work to close the loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families. We also work in our own communities and with business leaders to encourage a culture of responsible gun ownership.

Sandy Hook Promise (National)

Sandy Hook Promise is a national nonprofit organization founded and led by several family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Based in Newtown, Connecticut, our intent is to honor all victims of gun violence by turning our tragedy into a moment of transformation. By empowering youth to “know the signs,” we can unite everyone who values protecting children. Together, we can take action in schools, homes, and communities. This will help prevent gun violence and stop the tragic loss of life.

ALLIANCE’s sole mandate is to assist under-resourced individuals and communities. ALLIANCE concentrates its efforts and resources on identifying and eliminating the causes of poverty rather than only dealing with its effects. Hartford Communities That Care (HCTC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), community-based organization founded in 1998, whose mission is to create a thriving, non-violent and drug free environment for youth and families. As a leader and advocate for victims of violence and trauma in underserved communities, HCTC identifies, develops and implements culturally appropriate, high quality and evidence-based crisis response, mental health and supportive programs, partnerships and policies to improve the lives of youth and adult victims of crime and their families.

Homes with Hope (Fairfield County)

Homes with Hope is a Westport-based organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Fairfield County. Ledge Light Health District (LLHD)

Ledge Light Health District – LLHD – serves as the local health department for East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Stonington, and Waterford, Connecticut. As a health district, formed under Connecticut General Statutes Section 19a-241, LLHD is a special unit of government, allowing member municipalities to provide comprehensive public health services to residents in a more efficient manner by consolidating the services within one organization.

Since our inception in 2011, New Haven Rising has worked to create economic, social and racial justice. Our members across New Haven have pushed those in power to create a more equitable city with opportunities for all. We are proud of our successes: a community benefits agreement with charter schools, the election of politicians who are responsive to the people rather than to special interests, and an agreement with large institutions to hire locally.

The Justice Education Center (Statewide)

For over 48 years, The Justice Education Center mission has been to improve the lives of children, youth and adults through increasing community safety, reducing crime and violence, and providing educational and wellness opportunities for Connecticut’s children, youth, and families.

Trinity Health of New England Corporation, Inc. (Statewide)

Trinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, faith-based health care systems in the nation. It is a family of 133,000 colleagues and more than 38,900 physicians and clinicians caring for diverse communities across 25 states. The Trinity Health system includes 92 hospitals, 101 continuing care locations, the second largest PACE program in the country as well as many other health and well-being services. In fiscal year 2025, the Livonia, Michigan-based health system invested $2.9 billion in its communities in the form of charity care, community benefit and other programs and services.

Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (Statewide)

CCADV strives to change the systems that impact the lives of survivors. Whether it’s working with government agencies to create flexible policies that meet the needs of survivors, advocating with elected officials to strengthen state and federal laws, or launching training and public awareness initiatives to inform individuals and communities about the help we offer, we’re at the center of efforts to improve Connecticut’s response to domestic violence.

Hope Family Justice Center Valley and Shoreline (Greater New Haven)

The Hope Family Justice Center of Greater New Haven consists of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who work together, under one roof, to provide free wraparound services and care to victims, survivors and thrivers of domestic violence. By providing support and healing, access to services and pathways to empowerment, the Hope Center is dedicated to replacing violence with safety, despair with optimism, uncertainty with hope.

Non-Violence Alliance (Statewide)

Our Mission is to promote non-violent partner relationships, families and communities, and to reduce violence and abuse towards domestic partners and children. We accomplish this goal by educating men about the origins of their abusive behaviors and changing their beliefs and attitudes about their partners and their role in relationships and family.

With a legacy spanning 160 years and recognized as the first Girls Club in the United States, Park Central empowers girls and women through essential skill-building and life-enriching programs. Our center offers a supportive and safe place to share and grow – where she can become who she wants by learning what she likes.

PARENTING SUPPORT:

Saint Joseph Parenting Center (Stamford, Danbury, Bridgeport)

Saint Joseph Parenting Center’s vision is that all children live in a world free of child abuse and neglect. With that vision in mind, our mission is to strengthen families that are at risk of child abuse and neglect, by providing parenting education and support. We equip parents with the education, tools and resources to change unhealthy parenting patterns and to foster healthy ones in an effort to decrease the incidence of child abuse and neglect.

Best 4 Bristol (Bristol)

Bristol Eliminating Substance Use Together (BEST) is a Drug-Free Community Coalition that began in the early 1990s as the Bristol Youth Prevention Council. In the years since, the Coalition’s name may have changed, but its focus on reducing youth substance misuse has remained constant.

Lyme-Old Lyme Prevention Coalition (Lyme, Old Lyme)

The mission of the LOLPC is to prevent and reduce alcohol and other drug use among youth by collaborating with the community to raise awareness, modify social norms, educate youth and adults, initiate policy change, and promote healthy activities.

VIOLENCE PREVENTION & VICTIM SUPPORT:

Brother Carl Hardrick Institute (Hartford)

The Brother Carl Hardrick Institute for Violence Prevention will focus on evidence-based strategies for the prevention of gun and community violence that expands the number violence intervention specialists and youth development practitioners.

City of Hartford - Office of Violence Prevention (Hartford)

Our strategy focuses on a holistic, community-centered approach that tackles the root causes of violence through collaboration and prevention. By partnering with various sectors—law enforcement, mental health services, and trusted community leaders—to establish a unified support system. The Office of Violence Prevention aims to build trust and create a safer, more resilient environment for all Harford residents by emphasizing healing and maintaining transparent communication with the community.

Connecticut Violence Intervention Program (CTVIP) (Greater New Haven)

CTVIP has emerged from a singular idea to an agency with over 20 staff and multiple programs aimed to support our community and youth. We are now known as Connecticut Violence Intervention and Prevention which captures our strategic efforts to get ahead of community violence and target the systemic, historical issues of our clients.

CT Against Gun Violence (Statewide)

The mission of CT Against Gun Violence is as simple as it is bold: to end gun violence in Connecticut. Our mission is being achieved through three key strategies:

CT Center for Nonviolence (Statewide)

The Connecticut Center for Nonviolence (CTCN) fosters conflict reconciliation and coalition building through the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement. Using a proactive approach, CTCN utilizes a comprehensive nonviolence curriculum developed by legendary Civil Rights Leader, Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Jr., a key strategist for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Over the past seventeen years, CTCN has introduced more than 10,000 citizens and civic leaders to Kingian Nonviolence, tailoring its programs to suit various groups. The center focuses on building sustainable partnerships to ensure the ongoing growth of nonviolent practices.

Hang Time, Bridgeport (Bridgeport, New Haven, Waterbury)

Focused on individuals impacted by gang/group violence and those suffering from Post-Traumatic & Present Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to urban gun violence, Hang Time has grown into a vital community resource.

Mothers United Against Violence (Statewide)

Mothers United Against Violence is a faith-based organization that has been dedicated on helping out the community get through the biggest ongoing pandemic, which is gun violence. The amount of unwanted violence is hurting the community and causing a rift throughout Connecticut.

Newtown Action Alliance (National)

Newtown Action Alliance Foundation (NAAF) was formed after the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy in the community to help ensure that Newtown is remembered as a place that fosters positive cultural change to #EndGunViolence in America. Led by the same volunteer advocates who lead the Newtown Action Alliance (501c4), NAAF provides comfort, education, scholarship, support and resources to families and communities impacted by gun violence. Our goal is to help all American communities move forward together to create a positive cultural change towards a more peaceful, less violent future.

Project Longevity Local to New Haven (Bridgeport, Hartford, Waterbury, New London)

Project Longevity, in the cities of Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Waterbury and New London focuses on reducing group and gun violence, minimize harm to communities through deterrence and targeted enforcement, care coordination and community outreach for returning offenders, victims, and their families.

Project Safe Neighborhood (Statewide)

Project Safe Neighborhoods (“PSN”) is a comprehensive, strategic approach to reducing gun violence and promoting safe communities in this country. PSN combats gun violence by bringing together local, state, and federal law enforcement officials, prosecutors, and community leaders to implement a multi-faceted strategy to deter and punish gun violence.

Safe Futures (Southeastern Connecticut)

Safe Futures provides free and confidential services for anyone who feels unsafe in New London and other locations in Connecticut.

Survivors of Homicide (Statewide)

We are a Connecticut based non-profit organization that provides support, counseling, and advocacy to family and friends of homicide victims.

Swords to Ploughshares Northeast (Statewide)

Our program is focused on reducing gun violence in the communities in which our events take place. With 40,000 gun deaths per year in our country, something must be done now. The strategy we apply to this problem is to convert weapons of death into tools of life, and then use those tools to the betterment of the community, all with the goal of reducing senseless gun deaths.

“You Are Not Alone” (YANA) is a Bridgeport-based support group for mothers who have lost children to gun violence. The group was founded by Dawn Spearman and provides fellowship, support, and a space for mothers to share their stories and find healing.

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT & INTERVENTION:

Arch Street (Greenwich)

The mission of the Arch Street Teen Center is to provide Greenwich teens (and teens who are enrolled in a Greenwich school) in the 6th – 12th grades with a safe environment in which to connect and socialize with their peers.

Bridge to Success Community Partnership (Waterbury)

BTS is a cross-sector partnership of over 90 community and civic leaders, educators, and organizations. We work collectively to achieve equitable change by empowering Waterbury’s children, youth, and families, to be successful in school, career, and life.

Bridgeport StreetSafe (Bridgeport)

Established in 2014, StreetSafe brings new hope, promise, and mobility to our most at-risk youth. Gang/group violence and gun violence are far too prevalent among Bridgeport youth. Our goal is to create a safer and more secure environment for Bridgeport.

Citywide Youth Coalition (New Haven)

Citywide Youth Coalition is a youth-led, intergenerational organizing hub that builds collective power through political education, community care, and grassroots action. Rather than simply ‘serving’ youth, CWYC centers youth as organizers, advocates, and visionaries who lead efforts to dismantle systems of oppression and reimagine what justice, safety, and liberation looks like.

COMPASS Youth Collaborative (Hartford)

COMPASS Youth Collaborative interrupts violence in the City of Hartford by building transformative relationships with youth at the center of the violence. COMPASS Peacebuilders provide youth tools to create sustained behavior change and transition successfully to adulthood.

Connecticut Youth Services Association (Statewide)

Connecticut Youth Services Association (CYSA) leads, strengthens, supports and advocates on behalf of a unified network of Youth Service Bureaus dedicated to the well-being of Connecticut’s youth and families.

Power through the collective voice of parents, grandparents, foster parents, guardians and all child caregivers.

CTVIP, Connecticut Violence Intervention and Prevention (New Haven)

CTVIP currently serves youth that are engaged in the riskiest activity in the greater New Haven community. By risky, we allude to youth engaged or at risk of engaging in community violence such as gang involvement, shooting, truancy, or disengagement. We are contracted to work with youth ages 13-24; those in the public school system, those returning from detention/correction and victims of community violence.

Domus Kids (Stamford)

About 1 in 5 young adults in our state are disconnected or disengaged. Through love-infused programming, Domus helps young people in Stamford and beyond overcome obstacles that jeopardize a bright and stable future. Our trauma-responsive approach combines our Relational Model (how we work) with our Program Models (what we do) to support youth in making positive changes.

Full Circle Youth (Fairfield County)

Full Circle Youth Empowerment Inc. seeks to holistically empower, support and encourage marginalized youth, in Fairfield County, to become self-sufficient and successfully transition into adulthood.
